I am honoured that my bronze sculpture Hope was selected for exhibition at the Chianciano Biennale 2026, held in Chianciano Terme, Italy, from 15 to 29 August 2026. Modelled from life and cast in bronze, Hope explores resilience, humanity and the emotional weight we carry. Through its figurative form, the sculpture invites discussion about shared human experience and the strength that can emerge through adversity. It is a privilege to exhibit Hope alongside artists from around the world at this internationally recognised biennale. I am grateful to the organisers for this opportunity and to everyone who has supported my artistic journey.

The tigress has always symbolised strength, resilience, and guardianship of the natural world. Shakti: Spirit of the Tigress  captures this power, drawing on the Sanskrit word Shakti  — the divine feminine energy that is both nurturing and fiercely protective. 360 view of tigress on a black background The Making The sculpture began in clay before being cast into bronze resin, with the option of solid bronze. It is mounted on reclaimed wood, cut through by a flowing blue resin stream that represents life and renewal. Granite rocks are set in a circular formation, evoking both the landscape of the wild and the eternal cycles of nature. Across this ground, the tigress moves with quiet authority, embodying both grace and strength. Day and Night Photographed against both white and black backgrounds, the sculpture reveals two sides of her spirit. In daylight she embodies vitality and clarity; by night she carries mystery and watchfulness. Just like the tigress in the wild, she belongs to both worlds — shifting between light and shadow. A Living Symbol Shakti  represents the energy of creation, endurance, and transformation. In this work, the tigress becomes more than a figure: she is a living presence, a guardian balancing power with compassion, endurance with renewal. It was an honour to exhibit Tied in Tradition: Treads Unseen  at the London Art Biennale  (1 6–20 July 2025) , held in the beautiful and historic Chelsea Old Town Hall . Tied in Tradition: Treads Unseen  at the London Art Biennale  (16-20 July 2025) The opening evening was full of energy and conversation. It was inspiring to connect with fellow artists and see such a powerful range of work from around the world. My sculpture explores cultural identity, resilience, and the invisible threads that connect us. Set as two life-sized portraits in silent dialogue, it reflects how tradition and individuality coexist. Thank you to the Biennale team for the opportunity and to everyone who engaged with the work. Community and family memories, close observation, archival material and life study inform my practice. I combine realism with critical enquiry to reimagine people, histories and the natural world through sculpture. Each sculpture begins in clay, where ideas develop through the making process before being cast in bronze or resin. Selected works incorporate reclaimed materials that reinforce environmental and narrative themes. My work explores identity, memory, cultural heritage, social justice and humanity's relationship with the natural world. Accessibility also informs my practice through tactile, auditory and olfactory elements, together with light and shadow, enriching how sculpture can be experienced beyond sight. Through an established professional practice, I create sculptures that are empathic, responsive and encourage dialogue. By combining technical skill with conceptual enquiry, my practice contributes to the evolving language of contemporary sculpture. It broadens opportunities for sculpture to be experienced, understood and valued across different ages, backgrounds and diverse communities. 'Hope' is a suspended gesture poised between movement and stillness. Modelled from life in clay, the human arm, viewed from the front, is distilled into a single expressive form charged with intensity. Balancing endurance and fragility, the sculpture reflects moments of uncertainty in which resilience emerges through tension and release. Its elongated curve evokes both resistance and surrender, drawing attention to the emotional weight carried within the body. Through gesture alone, 'Hope' evokes an emotional experience that transcends language and culture. 2025 Florence Biennale, Italy London Art Biennale, United Kingdom 1/3 Honoured 'Tied in Tradition: Threads Unseen' was displayed at the Florence Biennale and selected for the London Art Biennale. 'Tied in Tradition: Threads Unseen' explores the relationship between cultural heritage and individual identity. Depicting a figure of Chinese heritage, the sculpture reflects the balance between honouring tradition and embracing contemporary expressions of self, symbolised through a loosely tied traditional knot and an ear piercing. The work comprises two portraits of the same subject. They are not merely duplicates but are positioned to suggest a silent conversation, highlighting both the tension and harmony between shared heritage and personal evolution. Together, they invite a deeper exploration of identity and belonging. Modelled from life in clay, the paired sculptures capture strength through subtle expression. The portrait fragment 'Threads Unseen' focuses attention on the face, neck and hairline, encouraging reflection on the invisible threads that connect cultures, generations and individual identity. 2024 Chianciano Biennale, Italy Art Unlimited International Open Art Competition, United Kingdom Teravarna Art Gallery – 12th Animal Art Competition, United States 1/3 Humbled that 'Pathfinder of Liberty' was selected for the Chianciano Biennale; 'Spirito Italiano' for the International Open Art Competition and 'Shakti: Spirit of the Tigress ' for Teravarna Art Gallery. 'Pathfinder of Liberty' is a portrait sculpture of the African American Harriet Tubman, modelled in clay from archival photographs. The sculpture honours Tubman's courage, resilience and lifelong commitment to freedom. Having escaped from slavery, she went on to guide many others to freedom through the Underground Railroad. In later life, she founded a home providing care, dignity and shelter for elderly African Americans. She is depicted wearing the lace shawl presented to her by Queen Victoria in recognition of her extraordinary humanitarian achievements and enduring legacy. The inscription, attributed to Harriet Tubman, "Every great dream begins with a dreamer", is presented in tactile large print, braille and audio, extending the portrait beyond physical likeness and allowing audiences to encounter her legacy through touch, sight and sound. Through portraiture and accessible interpretation, 'Pathfinder of Liberty' celebrates Harriet Tubman's extraordinary life and enduring contribution to freedom, equality and justice. 'Spirito Italiano' is a portrait modelled from life in clay. The sculpture explores cultural identity through the subtle language of expression and gesture, capturing a moment where character and heritage become intertwined. A slight tilt of the head, a relaxed posture and an understated smile suggest openness and self-assurance without prescribing a fixed narrative. Rather than presenting an idealised representation, the work invites viewers to consider how identity is communicated through presence, expression and lived experience, encouraging personal interpretation shaped by their own cultural perspectives. Through close observation and realistic modelling, 'Spirito Italiano' reflects on portraiture as a means of fostering human connection. The sculpture celebrates individuality while acknowledging the shared experiences that transcend cultural boundaries, inviting reflection on the ways identity is both expressed and perceived. 'Shakti: Spirit of the Tigress' emerges from shadow with a watchful presence, embodying the divine feminine energy that is both nurturing and fiercely protective. Sculpted in clay from archival photographs and wildlife reference material, the tigress strides across a symbolic landscape of reclaimed wood, where a flowing blue resin stream runs between granite rocks arranged in a circular formation. Presented against a black ground, her presence becomes more enigmatic, revealing how shifting light transforms the sculpture's character and emotional resonance.
