Pathfinder of Liberty — Inscription
Story
Pathfinder of Liberty honours the courage and enduring legacy of Harriet Tubman.
Presented on a polished wooden base, the inscription features words attributed to Harriet Tubman:
"Every great dream begins with a dreamer."
The words are presented in large tactile print and braille, allowing the inscription to be experienced through both sight and touch. A voiced version is also accessible via QR code.
Created in dialogue with the sculpture Pathfinder of Liberty, the inscription reflects themes of courage, resilience and determination associated with Harriet Tubman’s extraordinary life.
The inscription can be displayed alongside the portrait or experienced as a work in its own right.
