Inspirational Voices: Stories That Inspire My Sculptures

Maria Goldson

Updated: Jan 17

I’ve always believed that every sculpture tells a story. It’s not just about the shapes and forms—it’s about the lives, struggles, and triumphs of the people and ideas they represent. That’s why I’m so excited to introduce the Inspirational Voices page on ReshapingArt.com, a space where I can share the stories behind my work with you.

Bringing Stories to Life

When I sculpt, I’m not just shaping clay or casting bronze; I’m honouring the extraordinary individuals who inspire me. People like Frederick Douglass, whose fight for equality inspired Voice of Freedom, and Harriet Tubman, whose courage and determination echo through the braille and audio features of my work.

Inspirational Voices is my way of celebrating these remarkable figures and inviting you to connect with their legacies. I want to share their stories with you—not just through the sculptures, but through the words, history, and messages that make their contributions so timeless.

Why I Created This Page

Art has always been my medium to challenge stereotypes and foster empathy, but I’ve also learned that accessibility is key to meaningful connection. With Inspirational Voices, I’m going beyond the visual. Each story on the page is enriched with links to voiced quotes. My goal is to ensure that these stories are accessible to everyone, whether they experience art visually or through touch and sound.

Let’s Keep the Conversation Going

Inspirational Voices isn’t just a place to learn about the art—it’s an invitation to reflect and engage. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the stories that resonate most with you. Drop me an email at hello@reshapingart.com, and let me know what inspires you.

Thank you for being part of this journey with me. Together, we can continue to honour these incredible voices and share their stories with the world.
