Tread Lightly
Tread Lightly is a sculpture of an aged elephant navigating a fading path, reflecting the fragility of the natural world and our responsibility to protect it.
The elephant moves forward with a sense of endurance and vulnerability. Its diminishing path suggests an uncertain future, drawing attention to the pressures facing wildlife and the environments upon which animals depend.
Sculpted in clay and cast in bronze resin or bronze, the elephant is presented on reclaimed wood with blue resin. The contrast between the natural texture of the wood and the flowing resin creates a landscape through which the elephant makes its journey.
The title Tread Lightly carries a simple message: our actions leave a mark. The sculpture invites reflection on humanity’s relationship with the natural world and the importance of protecting it for future generations.
